Do You Filter Spam or Junk Mail?
📬 Handling of Presorted Standard (USPS Marketing) Mail
Some PostScan Mail locations may filter or limit the intake of Presorted Standard Mail, also known as USPS Marketing Mail. Even when filtering is in place, PostScan Mail takes care to ensure your mail is handled responsibly and in accordance with USPS guidelines.
You always remain in control of what happens to your mail. No items are shredded or recycled without your authorization.
What Is Presorted Standard Mail?
Presorted Standard Mail, now called USPS Marketing Mail, is commonly used for bulk mailings such as:
- Advertisements
- Catalogs
- Promotional materials
This mail class is less expensive than First-Class Mail because it is presorted by the sender. As a result:
- Delivery times are longer
- Forwarding and return services are not included unless additional postage is paid
How This Mail Is Handled in Your Mailbox
Once mail is scanned and uploaded to your virtual mailbox:
- You can choose to keep, shred, or recycle the item
- Nothing is discarded without your approval
This process helps ensure you do not miss mail that may still be important or time sensitive.
